Web counter

Web counter allows you to collect data on websites. Through the web counter, MyTracker tracks stats on your website visitors, then enriches it with mobile data and create the whole picture of all project platforms.

MyTracker works with Top Mail.Ru counters and VK Ads pixels. Installed on all pages of your site, the counter collects data about the web audience of your project. To start tracking, confirm access to an already connected counter or create a new one in MyTracker.

Selecting a counter

Creating a new counter

If you do not have the Top Mail.Ru counter or VK Ads pixel then create a new counter for web tracking:

1. In the applications list, select the app for which you need to create a counter.
2. On the Web counter tab, click Create counter.

As a result, you will get the counter code to install it on all pages of your site.

The new counter will be registered in your Top Mail.Ru account automatically

Selecting a connected counter

If you have the Top Mail.Ru counter or VK Ads pixel then confirm access to the counter in MyTracker:

1. In the applications list, select the app with the connected counter.
2. On the Web counter tab, click Select connected counter. The button is available only if MyTracker finds the Top Mail.Ru counters or VK Ads pixels at the URL address of the site.
3. Select the counter identifier you want to use for data collection. And enter the email address to which the selected counter is registered.
4. Click Send request. We will send a request to confirm your access to the counter.
5. Wait for confirmation from the counter owner, or, if you are the owner, confirm the counter through email. The counter status will be changed to Confirmed.

After the counter confirmation, ensure you have installed the code on all pages of your site

Changing the counter domain

You can select the domain according to the region of visits you want to track.

After MyTracker generated the counter code, click:

• RU domain — to count website visits from regions, where the VK services are available.
• COM domain — to count website visits from regions, where VK the services are not available. For details, go to the Alternative CDN section.

MyTracker automatically replaces the necessary code parts.

Tracking automatic events

On the Web counter tab, in the Track line, you can enable the Automatic events tracking. These are events that the counter will collect automatically without requiring you to add any additional code.

If the toggle is ON, the counter automatically tracks the following events:

• Form submission
• Click on phone
• Click on email
• Click on social network
• Open messenger
• Site search
• View catalogue
• View product
• Go to cart
• Add payment info
• Complete checkout

It might take up to four hours for the tracking to start or stop after you toggle.

Tracking Ecommerce events

If your website is an online store or any other e-commerce service, you can enable the Ecommerce events tracking on the Web counter tab in the Track line.

To collect data, you need to add additional code to your site and mark up events. For details, refer to the Setting up Ecommerce section.

If the toggle is ON, the counter tracks the events you have marked:

• Order placement
• Adding a product to an order
• Full or partial payment of the order
• Canceling or refunding a product

It might take up to four hours for the tracking to start or stop after you toggle.
