MyTracker attribution settings can be configured either for the entire project or for tracking links used in individual marketing campaigns. You can turn on/off some attribution methods and change the attribution window separately for post click and post view conversion for mobile and web platforms.
For Google Ads, DoubleClick and Apple Search Ads campaigns, attribution can be configured only at the project level. This is because these partners’ campaigns and tracking links are generated automatically and are not editable.
Default project level settings apply to all apps, i. e. to all tracking links within the project. Settings can be selected when adding a project and edited any time later.
By default project settings will apply to all newly created tracking links. If you want to update parameters of existing links, you need to replace them with new links. Exception: links in Google Ads, DoubleClick and Apple Search Ads campaigns may be configured only at the project level.
For more details on projects, refer to Project
Individual tracking link attribution settings override project level settings but apply to a single tracking link only. Settings can only be selected when a tracking link is created.
Once a tracking link is created, its attribution window cannot be resized. Its settings are not accessible at the link level, and are not modified when project level settings are edited. However, you can always add another link with a different configuration for post click and post view conversions.
For more details on tracking links, refer to Tracking links.
The settings apply simultaneously to device and user attribution. The only difference is the attributable event: for devices — the installation or the first site visit, for users — the first event passed with the user ID.
Mobile attribution window is setting for mobile applications. This is the time interval preceding an install, during which click or view attribution is permitted.
If the click is detected outside this interval, it's not assumed to the source of installation.
The setting is available separately for post click and post view conversions and applies to mobile attribution methods: Android Referrer, Device ID matching.
Minimum value of the mobile attribution window for Post click — 0 days 1 hour, maximum value — 30 days 0 hours.
Minimum value of the mobile attribution window for Post view — 0 days 1 hour, maximum — 7 days 0 hours.
Web attribution window is setting for web applications. This is the time interval preceding the first site visit, during which click or view attribution is permitted.
If the click is detected outside this interval, it's not assumed to the source of visitor.
The setting is available for the post click conversion with Redirect and separately for the post view conversion only for the web attribution by cookies.
Minimum value of the web attribution window for Post click — 0 days 1 hour, maximum value — 30 days 0 hours.
Minimum value of the web attribution window for Post view — 0 days 1 hour, maximum — 7 days 0 hours.
Unlike mobile devices where a user can pass some time before installing the application, on the web platform a visitor almost immediately goes to the project site. Therefore for Direct link there is no web attribution window.
Probabilistic attribution window defines the attribution window for the Probabilistic method. In addition to configuring the attribution window, you can also turn on/off the method itself at the individual tracking link level.
Suppose you turn off Probabilistic. Then, when attribution by other methods is not possible, such as iOS 14.5+, the tracking link will only count the total number of ads interactions (clicks and impressions).
Minimum value of the probabilistic attribution window — 0 hours 1 minute, maximum value — 3 hours 0 minutes.
The Post view settings block allows you to control a view-through attribution. By default, MyTracker supports a click-through and view-through attribution. But you can turn off the Post view option and track only conversion on the click.
You can disable Post view for the entire project or individual tracking links.
DOOH window is setting for the attribution of digital out-of-home advertising. This is the time interval preceding an install, during which view attribution is permitted.
If the view is detected outside this interval, it's not assumed to the source of installation.
Minimum value of the DOOH window — 0 days 1 hour, maximum — 7 days 0 hours.
For more details about DOOH ads, refer to DOOH tracking
