Selectors

The report builder includes following groups of selectors:

  • Dimensions
  • Devices
  • Users
  • Platform users
  • Calculated metrics

Dimensions

Dimensions determine the number of rows i.e. illustrate the data. Dimensions allow you to detail stats by event dates, tracking links, countries, etc.

For example, the "Date" dimension shows stats for each individual day.

See the list of dimensions in sections Periods, Traffic source, Geo&Demography, Custom events, Device info, Finances. Note that the sections also include a list of standard metrics in addition to dimensions.

Devices

The Devices section combines metrics by user devices (smartphones, laptops, browsers in the case of web apps, and others).

For example, "First Launchesd = 2" means that an app was launched from two devices. Note that a user can have one or more devices, and some take turns on a single device.

In the MyTracker interface, device metrics are marked with the superscript letters d (devices).

See the list of standard device metrics in sections Common metrics, Device / User activity, Custom events, and others.

Users

The Users section combines metrics by an authorized user in the app.

For example, "First Launchesu = 2" means two different users launched your app. Note that a user can authorize from different devices, and some use a single device.

In the MyTracker interface, user metrics are marked with the superscript letters u (users).

See the list of standard user metrics in sections Common metrics, Device / User activity, Custom events, and others.

Platform users

The Platform users section combines metrics for platforms such as VK Play and VK Mini Apps.

The set of metrics is different for each platform. For example, for a mini app on the VK Mini Apps platform, you cannot use sessions and financial metrics, but for this data, you may refer to Devices and User sections if you distribute the app out of the platform.

In the MyTracker interface, platform user metrics are marked with the superscript letters p (platform).

For details, refer to the Platform user tracking section

Calculated metrics

Calculated metrics are metrics created by you or your colleagues. These are any metrics calculated based on standard MyTracker metrics.

For example, CPI (Cost per Install) = Campaign cost / New devicesd.

In the MyTracker interface, calculated metrics are marked with the superscript symbol .

For more details, refer to the Calculated metrics section

Metric types

There are the following types of MyTracker device and user metrics:

  • Flow metrics — data for the selected report period.
  • LifeTime (LT) metrics — data for the entire lifetime of the audience acquired in the selected report period.
  • Current Attribution (CA) metrics — data for the selected report period within the current attribution.
  • Attribution Time (AT) metrics — data for the period between the last and next attributions on the devices attributed during the selected report period.

The metric type is marked by its name. For example:

  • First Launchesd
  • First Launches LTd
  • First Launches CAd
  • First Launches ATd

For details see the section Metric types
